Partial Hospitalization Program

Program Description
PHP is an intensive, acute clinical treatment service designed to stabilize severe mental health problems in youth ages 6 to 18 years. PHP is a daily program, running from 8:00am to 2:00pm that operates year-round with an average length of stay of 8 to 12 weeks.

Clinical Services
An initial diagnostic assessment is provided by a licensed counselor or social worker prior to enrollment in the Partial Hospitalization Program. From this assessment, and individual treatment service plan is developed between the mental health clinician and the youth and his/her parents. This plan is implemented by the treatment team which includes the counselors/social workers, psychiatrist and the youth and his/her parents/guardians. A psychiatrist provides a psychiatric evaluation of the child within the first 2-3 weeks of the program and oversees the child's medication needs throughout their stay in the program.

Licensed counselors and social workers provide group, individual, and family therapies.

Educational Services
Two hours of a child's PHP day are devoted to providing academics through an individualized curriculum provided by the child's home school district. The curriculum is implemented by Greene County Educational Service Center's (ESC) certified teachers and teacher assistants.

Teachers and mental health staff work closely together to ensure the best collaborative care.

Most school districts in Greene County bus to PHP, including, but not limited to, Beavercreek, Xenia, Fairborn, and Yellow Springs School Districts.
